Congratulations to the 2026–27 Masters of Science in Pathology program and Experimental Pathology PhD program student recipients of the Imogene Fisher Grad Student Scholarship Fund and the Marilyn Ohm-Smith Grad Student Scholarship Fund. This year’s recipients are:

Imogene Fisher awardees: 
Mohammad Heidarian, MSc, Experimental Pathology PhD 
Peter Lehman, MS, Experimental Pathology PhD

Marilyn Ohm-Smith awardees:
Cristina Dix, Master of Science in Pathology
Payton Kahl, MS, Experimental Pathology PhD

The Imogene Fisher Fund was established in honor of Imogene Fisher who was a medical laboratory technologist in our bone marrow lab. The fund provides financial assistance to deserving students pursuing a degree in a graduate program in the Department of Pathology.

The Ohm-Smith Scholarship Fund was established in 2024 by Marilyn Jean Ohm-Smith who is a graduate of our Master of Science in Pathology program and was mentored by Franklin Koontz with her thesis titled, "The effect of cephalosporin prophylaxis on women undergoing hysterectomy."
