Lauryn Hahn, BS
I am originally from Woodstock, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. As an undergraduate, I worked as a research assistant in Dr. LaTasha Crawford’s lab, where we aimed to better understand the roles and communication pathways of nerves in the dorsal root ganglion and the body regions they innervate. I also contributed to the development of a neuro-biobank composed of samples from the UW Veterinary Clinic. Currently, I am completing my M.S. in Dr. Steven Offer’s lab, where we investigate DPD deficiency and its role in 5-fluorouracil toxicity. My project focuses on mutations in the DPYD gene and how they affect DPD function. Outside the lab, I enjoy running, cooking, and expanding my vinyl collection.
