Congratulations to Aaron Amundson, DO, as part of the collaborative paper, “Increased Incidence of Invasive Group A Streptococcus Infections and Fatalities in Southern Wisconsin” has received the Eckert Award, Second Place at the 2026 NAME Annual Meeting.
The study analyzes 22 years of fatal invasive Group A Streptococcus (iGAS) infections, tracking patient demographics, clinical symptoms, and seasonal trends against statewide laboratory and surveillance data.
The Eckert Award is given to a paper published in the American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology deemed most “innovative, useful, important, and otherwise influential in the practice of forensic pathology.”
