Congratulations to the 2025-26 recipients of the Marilyn Ohm-Smith Pathology Student Scholarship. This year’s recipients are:

• Nimra Aman, MS | Experimental Pathology PhD student
• Maddisen Dwelley, BS | Master of Science in Pathology student
• Ryan Swartz, BS | Master of Science in Pathology student
• Julia Magee | Medical Laboratory Science student

The Ohm-Smith Scholarship Fund was established in 2024 by Marilyn Jean Ohm-Smith who is a graduate of our Master of Science in Pathology program and was mentored by Franklin Koontz with her thesis titled, "The effect of cephalosporin prophylaxis on women undergoing hysterectomy."

The scholarship fund is two-fold, one part encompassing our Master of Science in Pathology program and Experimental Pathology PhD program, the other for our Medical Laboratory Science program.
