On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Brad Seaton, Clinical Department Administrator of the University of Iowa Department of Pathology, was elected to serve on the Academic Pathology Executives Section (APEX) Council as the Midwest Regional Representative.

APEX is part of the Association for Academic Pathology (AAPath) and “provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas to make recommendations concerning the business and administrative aspects of running an academic Pathology department.” AAPath is a non-profit society that represents and provides leadership and advocacy to academic departments of pathology in the United States and Canada.

With a career spanning over two decades, Seaton has held key roles in financial management, strategic planning, and operational leadership. His previous roles include Assistant Department Director, Finance Manager, Senior Financial Analyst, and Financial Analyst at the University of Iowa, as well as experience in claims analysis and insurance.

According to Brad, “I look forward to the opportunity of serving as the Midwest Regional Representative and becoming more involved with this association and connecting with more of my colleagues across the nation.”
