The article "Simultaneous detection of single‐nucleotide variant, deletion/insertion, and fusion in lung and thyroid carcinoma using cytology specimen and an RNA‐based next‐generation sequencing assay ", has been featured on the cover of Cancer Cytopathology. This was a team effort between the Molecular Pathology Laboratory and Cytopathology. The co-authors include bioinformatics scientists, a cytopathology fellow, technologists, and pathologists. As mentioned in the editorial, our study represents a step forward in maximizing the information from cytological smears for personalized/precision medicine. This is the second time that our work was selected for the cover page of this journal.
Cancer Cytopathology is a peer-reviewed journal of the American Cancer Society and has one of the highest impact factors among cytopathology journals.
