Our twelfth Pathology Research Day was held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Morning research presentations by faculty and trainees took place in the H.P. Smith Conference Room (W256 GH) and the plenary presentation, given by Dr. Daniel Remick, was held at 1:00 PM in 2117 MERF. The afternoon poster session was held in the MERF Atrium with 43 posters presented. The event was an opportunity for Pathology faculty and trainees from all sectors of the Department to share results from a range of research projects. Together, there was a full schedule of cutting edge work encompassing a variety of basic, translational and clinical topics.
Dr. Remick’s plenary talk was titled “Mechanisms of Traumatic Brain Injury Augmenting Clearance of Bacteria” and summarized his work investigating the effects of brain injury on the immune response to bacterial infection in the lung.
